For the business and educational communities, we are prepared to conduct all areas of awareness training depending upon your oganizational needs.

CERT (COMMUNITY EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM)

The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their community and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. Using the training learned in the classroom and during exercises, CERT members can assist others in their neighborhood or workplace following an event when professional responders are not immediately available to help. CERT members also are encouraged to support emergency response agencies by taking a more active role in emergency preparedness projects in their community.

The James Thomas Group (TJTG) has trained the CERT for West Long Branch, NJ (September-December, 2006) and Fort Monmouth, NJ (April-July 2007); Barbara Ruane of TJTG is the Program Manager for both teams.  The 20-hour training course is held over a period of eight weeks and includes Basic First Aid, Family Disaster Preparedness, Fire Suppression, Medical Operations, CERT Operations, Disaster Mental Health, Basic Emergency Management, and Light Search and Rescue.  Training culminates with an emergency response exercise in which the CERT puts into action what they learned in their training.  Graduates receive a CERT kit containing tools to assist team members when deployed.
